Born in Edmonton in 1946, Vance Rodewalt did advertising cartoons at The Roughneck after completing high school. Working for Marvel Comics for five years, he traveled to Europe and, upon his return, began doing political cartoons for the Calgary Albertan. When the Albertan was bought by The Calgary Sun, he remained there for 3 1/2 years before moving on to The Calgary Herald where he shared editorial page cartooning duties with Tom Innes. He has assumed full duties since 1987 and won the 1988 National Newspaper Award for Cartooning. He is also the author of the ³Chubb & Chauncey² comic strip. | |
