Mischa RICHTER

One of the all-time great cartoonists for The New Yorker, Mischa Richter
was born in Russia in 1911. After graduating from Yale's School of Fine Arts,
Richter started cartooning while painting murals for a WPA project in Boston.
William Randolph Hearst snapped him up for his King Features Syndicate,
which ran his daily panel "Strictly Richter" for 17 years. In 1941, he landed a
contract with The New Yorker. Richterıs work is noted for its classic
draftsmanship. In addition to his cartoon books, Richter has published several
childrenıs books and had numerous one-man shows of both his cartoons
and artwork.
