Kamagurka was born in 1956 in the dreary town of Nieuwpoort, at the Belgian seaside.
He studied at the Arts Academy of Ghent but left it before they could hand him the diplome.
He started working as a cartoonist at HUMO, a Belgian magazine, and quickly fame was
coming his way...
He published in several countries like Holland (NRC Handelsblad, Vrij Nederland, Haagse Post
Playboy, Esquire), France (Charlie Hebdo, Hara Kiri), UK (Squib, The Spectator, Deadpan),
Germany (Titanic, Suddeutsche Zeitung, Zitty, Eulenspiegel),Austrai (Die Presse),
USA (The New Yorker, National Lampoon, RAW) and many more...
He did several shows on Belgian and Dutch television, has a radio show together with Herr Seele
(his life-time companion) on Studio Brussel, and is on tour through Holland and Belgium all year
long. He wrote a book for children and two plays for theatre performed at the National Theatre
in Ghent, Belgium.
He has published over 25 comic books, from cartoons over Bert and Charles to Cowboy Henk.
As a painter he has had expostions at several galleries in Belgium and Holland.
