Norwegan artist and editorial cartoonist. Since 1986 he has made daily contributions to Norway's largest newspaper, Verdens Gang. His main field is political commentary along with theatre sketches, portraits and illustrations. Roar Hagen is connected to Cartoonists & Writers Syndicate on international topics and thereby getting accsess to leading media world-wide. His work has been shown at exhibitions like International Karikatur Festival in the Hungarian National Gallery 1990, Cartoon 92, Museum of American Political Life and Rathdrum International Cartoon Festival Ireland 1992. In 1997 he received the Norwegian Cartoon of the Year Award. His works are represented at Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, International Museum of Cartoon Art in Boca Raton, Florida, Stavanger Museum of Fine Art, the Norwegian Parliament and elsewhere. Roar Hagen is President of the Association of Norwegian Editorial Cartoonists. | |
