Born in Toronto in 1951, Patrick Corrigan studied fine arts at the Ontario College of Art, which led to a career of night-shift taxi driving. He forsook his extensive art training and freelanced for The Financial Post, Maclean's and The Toronto Star. He joined the Star in 1983 as a full-time illustrator, while filling in for Duncan Macpherson whenever possible. Twice nominated for a National Newspaper Award and winner of several awards in illustration and graphics (Society of Newspaper Design, New York Art Directors Club, Advertising Design club of Canada, Toronto Art Directors Club). He was named the editorial page cartoonist in 1995 at The Toronto Star. | |
